I received my graduate degree from NIU with a Master’s in Adult and Higher Education. Prior to being an advisor, I worked in admissions as a graduate university representative and in Residence Life for several years. I’ve been at Benedictine for 10 years and am grateful to be working in such a fantastic place. I’ve always wanted to work in a university setting and Benedictine has been a great fit. Working with students and helping them navigate through their academic careers brings me joy. Each student brings something different to our community, and it is great to see students achieve their goals.

After receiving my Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Psychology from St. Norbert College, I completed my Master’s and Ph.D. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland. I have been in higher education for over twenty years as a criminal justice professor. During my time as a professor, I developed a passion for advising students and decided to switch to full time advising when I started at Benedictine in August 2019. I enjoy helping match students with the right course and career plan as well as mentoring them through college life.

I graduated from the University of Georgia with a Masters in Human Development and Family Sciences after receiving my Bachelors from Purdue University in Youth, Adult, and Family Services. Prior to becoming an Academic Advisor, I was an Admissions Counselor where I found my passion for higher education and assisting students as they transition to college life. While at Benedictine, take the opportunity to make brave and meaningful choices – don’t run from a challenge! Working hard, getting involved on campus, and persevering through adversity builds character, knowledge, compassion, and helps you grow in ways you can never predict. I am thrilled to be working with new students in helping them pursue their dreams!

Throughout most of my career, I held management positions in the social service industry but moving up the ladder required a college degree. While looking at various schools, I heard a radio commercial about Benedictine’s Adult Accelerated program; I enrolled! I received my BA in Management and MBA degrees from Benedictine University. Over the years, I have gone from being a Benedictine student to an employee. As an advisor for the Adult Accelerated program, I find joy in helping and encouraging other adult students along the path to degree completion, I am looking forward to working with you…let’s get started

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Western Illinois University. I previously worked at a Retirement Community in Palos Park working with all events and activities with the residents. I have always had a passion to work within a school community. I enjoy being able to help out all the incoming freshmen as well as transfer students with their Online Placement process. Being able to see the excitement in each of the students before they are even attending Benedictine makes my job that much more rewarding.

I live in Aurora, Illinois and have a BA in Organizational Leadership from Benedictine. I love to help people and be the encourager that stands on the sidelines rallying our students to the finish line. A Benedictine degree means a lot to them. Our non-traditional students get a second chance to fulfill a dream and I get to be part of it. And I love it!

“I graduated from the University of South Carolina with my Masters in Social Work after receiving my Bachelors from Southern Methodist University in Psychology and French. Before working at Benedictine University, I was a Career Counselor. One of my favorite parts of being an Academic Advisor is interacting with and supporting students as they begin their college experience. I love seeing the students’ successes and brainstorming with them when things go awry. I look forward to meeting each new student and helping them on their path, wherever it may take them!”

My MBA is from Benedictine University. I started in higher education with IPD, ‘Institute for Professional Development’, a contactor to Benedictine University for recruitment, before becoming a Benedictine University employee, which I have been for seven years. Prior to advising our non-traditional adult students, I worked in Student Life as a student advocate, covering the adult programs. I have been in education for most of my career, which began with dance. I became an International Dance Director for a major worldwide dance chain, which brought me from South Africa to the United States of America. At that time, I enjoyed training competitive dancers in Ballroom, Latin American and Theatre Arts. I have always had a passion to help people and now my goal is to help students achieve their highest potential and prepare them for success, while continuously looking for opportunities to encourage, inspire and help them overcome their fear of returning to school to complete their degrees.
