Father Philip Timko, O.S.B. Endowment Fund
The Father Philip Timko, O.S.B. Endowment Fund will provide resources, over and above the yearly department budget, for the religious studies department. This support can help fund student travel, faculty conferences, departmental technology, and other needs that would go unmet at current budget levels. Thanking Fr. Phil in this way will also have an ongoing, perpetual benefit for Benedictine University’s teaching and scholarship in religious studies.
To honor Father Phil's 50 years of teaching at St. Procopius College, later Illinois Benedictine College, and now Benedictine University, your financial support will go directly to the program he has loved and nurtured these many years. It seems only right and just that we recognize Fr. Phil for this dedication. We propose to you that we acknowledge and honor his life’s work and service by establishing an endowed fund in his name.
We aim to raise a minimum of $30,000 by December 31, 2018. Chris Lobello ’90, a former student of Father Phil, has offered a 50% match for all gifts (up to $20,000). For example, a gift of $1,000 would trigger a $500 matching gift from Chris. We accept pledges of up to 5 years. If you have questions or need additional information, please contact Len Bertolini, Vice President, University Development at (630)829-6127 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
