Don Kusumpa, interned at the World Health Organization (WHO) headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland in the Prevention of Noncommunicable Diseases (PND) department.
He contributed to work that will be published in three reports:
- WHO Report on the Global Tobacco Epidemic 2019 (published every two years)
- WHO Global Report on Trends in Tobacco Smoking 2000-2025
- 2019 United Nations Secretary General's Report on Rural Poverty: Health Section
NACCHO/NCSD recently announced that Vishal Kinkhabwala (MPH '13) as a recipient of its 2018 ENGAGE STD Conference Scholarship. Vishal graduated from our MPH Program in 2013 with an emphasis on Social and Behavioral Health. More recently he received his MD degree from Avalon University School of Medicine in June, 2018. MPH student, Justin Sta Ana, is the 2018 recipient of the Illinois Public Health Association's Distinguished Public Health Student of the Year Award. (Only one student receives this award in our state each year.) Previous Benedictine University MPH students who have also achieved this honor are Kate Kornfeind in 2017, Amar Pandya in 2016 and Rebecca Carlstrom in 2014.
