Benedictine University has a tradition of excellence in undergraduate science programs. Founded in 1887 as St. Procopius College by the Benedictine monks of St. Procopius Abbey, laboratory-based sciences have been a subject of serious study for more than a century at our institution. Serving as rector of St. Procopius College, Fr. Cosmas Vesley, OSB, expressed definitive views concerning the intrinsic compatibility of science and Christian principles.
