1. A dependent or independent Verification Worksheet.
2. Student (and spouse/parents if applicable) 2017 Federal Tax Return Transcripts; 2017 Federal Tax Return (1040, 1040EZ/A) documents; or 2017 Verification of Nonfiling Letter, dependent upon the information reported on the FAFSA as well as the Verification Worksheet.
   • You may be able to reduce the number of documents you will need to submit by completing your FAFSA using the IRS’s Data Retrieval Tool. This tool imports tax information directly into the FASFA, and when submitted without alterations can waive the need for certain documents.

3. Other documents may be requested on an individual basis.

Our office strongly encourages that all those who are able to use the DRT do so in an effort to ensure that the most accurate information is reported and the verification process streamlined for each student.

For the 2019-2020 award year, the student must submit all verification documents to the institution no later than 120 days after the student’s last date of enrollment for the 2019-2020 award year or September 21, 2020, whichever is earlier. However, until verification has been completed, no federal aid can be released to a student’s account, which may result in a financial balance and student account hold. Failure to submit requested documents will result in the loss of eligibility for Title IV aid.
