October 29, 2020 | Campus Communication
Dear Benedictine University Students,
As we enter November, we are quickly approaching the last day for any in-person on-campus classes (Tuesday, November 24) as we will then move to a virtual format for all classes and university operations for the remainder of the fall term. Students needing access to computers and internet during this time are able to utilize spaces in the Krasa Student Center after signing in at the Police Station. All other academic buildings will be closed until Monday, January 11 to assist in keeping our students, faculty and staff healthy and safe during this time when our community is seeing an increase in positive COVID-19 cases. Library, tutoring and advising resources will be available to all students virtually to provide support during the remaining three weeks of the term. Residential students will be receiving detailed information from University Housing regarding specific move-out information in addition to dates for returning to campus in January.
As we look towards 2021, the winter quarter term and spring semester academic calendars will not change. Classes will begin Monday, January 11 for the winter quarter and Tuesday, January 19 for the spring semester. Course registration for these terms begin on Monday, November 9, and students will receive an email from the Registrar’s Office on October 30 with details on class scheduling, assigned appointment dates and how to prepare for registration. The course schedule will resemble the fall term with a mix of synchronous, asynchronous and on-campus classes. Students will be able to search for these options though MyBenU when the schedule is posted on October 30.
We will continue to monitor the recommendations from DuPage County Health Department in order to keep our students, staff, faculty and the greater BenU community safe during this global pandemic. Protecting our flock is our top priority.
We wish you all the best as we finish the Fall 2020 Semester and look ahead to spring!
