When concerned about a student, we suggest that you encourage the student to visit the Counseling Center to discuss their situation. Here are a few ways you can refer them to the Counseling Center:
We understand that because of your concern for the student, you may want to follow up with the counselor. Please remember that the communication between a counselor and client is confidential. Without written consent from the student, we cannot and will not discuss the details of a student’s session or even confirm that the student in question is in counseling.
All students attending classes on the Lisle Main Campus are eligible for services from the Counseling Center. Referrals will be offered to students enrolled on the Springfield and Mesa campuses.
All students can request a one-on-one consultation to discuss issues impacting their lives. Some examples are: transitioning to college, loneliness or isolation, unhealthy relationships, sexual assault, relationship violence or stalking, low-mood/depression, anxiety/worry, sexuality or gender identity, grief, traumatic events, alcohol or drug use, the experience of discrimination or prejudice, body image or high levels of stress.

A student may be accommodated if a counselor has an opening. These appointments are typically reserved for students in crisis.
No. The student seeking counseling is required to make the appointment.
No. Due to confidentiality, you will be required to come to the office in person.
Yes. However, we cannot guarantee that you will be seen by a particular counselor. Please let us know at the time of scheduling if you prefer a certain counselor. We will do our best to make you feel comfortable.
Yes, all student documents are kept in a locked file. Your information will not be shared outside the Counseling Center without your written authorization, with the following exceptions:
